"Long afternoons in hot August Come to thunder by and by But then, soon after a cloudburst The sun returns to warm and dry"

- Alas, it's time to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruit, salads and beautiful bouquets of flowers from your garden but be wary, others are waiting to do the same. I have birds that are able to harvest my blueberries much quicker than I am.
- Those of you that have cats or dogs as pets will probably not have this problem. Cats and dogs will guard your garden from unwanted garden predators.
- If you don't have a pet you can cut up an old garden hose into 1 - 2 foot long pieces and place the pieces in conspicuous places around the area you want to protect. The birds will think it is a snake and will avoid the area.
